One was <strong data-start=\"323\" data-end=\"359\">near-infrared (NIR) pulsed light<\/strong> from the <strong data-start=\"369\" data-end=\"393\">Vielight Neuro Pro 2<\/strong>; the other was <strong data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"439\">hyperpolarized light (HPL)<\/strong> from a Bioptron device.<\/p>\n<p>In this lab setting, NIR light often pushed cells to use their <strong data-start=\"527\" data-end=\"543\">mitochondria<\/strong> (the cell\u2019s \u201cpower plants\u201d) more and <strong data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"595\">glycolysis<\/strong> (sugar-burning) less, and longer exposures sometimes <strong data-start=\"649\" data-end=\"675\">reduced cell viability<\/strong>. This paper exemplifies that breadth.
